Planning
Planning for the New England REZ Network Infrastructure Project is underway in line with the planning approval pathway for critical State significant infrastructure.
Currently, our team is the developing the projects environmental impact statement (EIS), which we expect to lodge in the second half of 2026.
Our EIS assessments are based on a narrower corridor of around 250m-wide located within the broader 1 kilometre corridor. During the EIS exhibition period, communities and stakeholders will be able to make formal submissions on the merits of the project.

Construction
If the New England REZ Network Infrastructure Project is approved, we expect the preferred network operator is expected to enter into a commitment deed by late 2027.
The network operator will design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the new infrastructure. We expect contract execution and financial close in 2028, with construction to follow thereafter.

Operation
Once operational, the New England REZ Network Infrastructure Project will help deliver clean, reliable energy across NSW.
