EnergyCo Community Listening Survey

As EnergyCo proceeds with formally declaring all five NSW Renewable Energy Zones (REZs), it is important to us that we genuinely engage with REZ communities. A key step in meeting this objective is our Listening Program that launched in September 2022.

Designed alongside experts from the Department of Planning and Environment’s Social Research team, the program seeks to understand what people understand about REZs, the infrastructure required to power them and the long-term benefits they will provide to host communities and the people of NSW.

The Listening Program begins with our first community survey. The survey was open from 19 September to 16 October 2022.

Listening to the community and understanding their views toward REZs will help us to optimise community benefits as our electricity system transforms into a modern energy grid that is cheap, clean and reliable.
